Through her experience as both a Tutor and Head of International Support, Ann has experience in advising students in selecting UK universities and suitable courses. This continues through to the actual application with advice on personal statements required for UCAS. Once at university, many former students keep in contact with Ann, some on a purely social basis, but Ann can help others with particular aspects of support in academic areas or general integration issues. This is on a mentoring basis rather than being a guardian.

Mentoring for teachers

Ann's experience is such that she can mentor other teachers, both in their teaching of English and in their understanding and appreciation of cultural issues that can affect how they relate to international students, or how international students might relate to them.
